When shrubs, hedges and trees start branching out to a point where they get out of control and look unnatural, it truly can change the entire appearance of your yard in a negative way.
It’s also detrimental to the plant’s health if you don’t trim or prune them when appropriate. Having a strong background knowledge in all plants gives us a good understanding on how to trim each plant in your yard.
Rasmussen Landscaping LLC will come out to you twice a year in June and September (growing seasons), to trim and prune all the shrubs, hedges and small trees around your property. From April to June your plants will grow the most. June is an important time to give them their first trim. This helps with the overall structure and shape of the plant while continuing a healthy growth. Some plants will bounce back and grow a little until September. In September we will come for that healthy shape up to continue that healthy loop for the end of the season.
Pruning and trimming helps promote new healthy growth, and control the natural growth of a plant without harming it.
Pruning is when we remove dying/dead, loose, or infected branches, stems, roots and buds from the plant. It serves no purpose and hinders plant growth, so we get rid of it. Pruning is a little healthier and delicate than taking a trimmer to the shrubs. Specific plants need to be pruned instead of trimmed.
We help prune shrubs that have grown into the house, growing over your roof, and growing into walkways or patios.
Trimming is used when a plant has overgrown and need to be cut back or shaped. All the branches of the shrub get cut instead of pruning one by one.
Why do we trim and prune these plants and why is it important?
We want to keep the plant’s natural look. Having the plant trimmed up and shaped the way it’s supposed to look will have your overall property more in tune. It is much more aesthetically pleasing when your plants are trimmed and pruned properly at the right time.
Trimming and pruning helps promote the plant’s overall health. By removing dead and dying branches and stubs, we allow more sunlight to break through and room for more growth. This in turn helps improve the plant’s overall strength, which then leads to longer plant life.
Trimming also helps protect your property. The storms and heavy wind we experience here in Maryland break branches off trees all the time. Sometimes if they’re too overgrown, they can be in danger from falling on your house or roof and causing damage. You can prevent this from happening with our trimming service at Rasmussen Landscaping LLC
